Service Project at the Parish's Home

On June, 24th the youth group went to the Parish's for our service project. Our service project consisted of digging up their entire flower bed in front of their house. After digging up all of their plants we then laid out a new flower bed from them. It was a lot of hard work, but we all enjoyed our project. Please take a look at the slide show at the top of the page to see how it turned out. We are terribly sorry, but we got so wrapped up in doing our service project that we forgot to get the camera out until the end.
After all of the hard work was over with we headed over to a local swimming pool to cool off and have some homemade ice cream. A great time was had by all.

Hole in One!

Wednesday night was Youth PuttPutt and Pizza night. We left the church around 6pm hoping to have a little cooler weather by going later in the evening. Boy that didn't work! It was extremely hot, but the youth were even hotter as almost all of them had at least 1 hole in one!

One of our girls hit two holes in one back-to-back!

While one of our boys won a free game. His "Lucky" shot bounced off of the bricks and into the hole in one stroke.

We had an awesome time playing puttputt, but our hungry stomachs were ready for some grub.

So we headed down to a local pizza place to fill our tummies and play in the arcade until time to leave.

It was another Great time with the youth group. We can't wait to see what awesome adventure God has for us next week!

Wednesday Night Youth!

Wow what a night!! We started off by meeting at the church and discussing God's abundant love. Our first scripture reading for the day came from John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." We then looked at John 13: 34 & 35, "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." Just to summarize what we talked about was how much love God really has for all of us, both believers and unbelievers. We then used a little exercise to show how God's love multiplies when we share the love of Jesus Christ with others we come in contact with.

We then set out our mission for the afternoon, which was to meet with some of our members at their respective homes and give them a gift of baked goods. Man what an experience. All of the youth members had a great time and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone seemed so happy to see us and they were all very thankful.

I would like to thank our youth parents for supplying us with our baked goods to deliver. I would also like to thank our volunteers who showed up to help. Thanks!!!

Youth Summer Kick-Off

Tonight we kicked off our first of many summer youth events scheduled at our church. Every year we schedule at least one swim party, but this year started with a bang! We had at least 40 folks, including parents, that attended this grand event. They played all sorts of pool games, had several chicken fights, ate delicious hotdogs and hamburgers (prepared by their AWESOME parents) and topped it off with yummy homemade ice-cream! I can't wait to see what all this summer brings, it looks like it's going to be exciting.

Here are a few pics from our party...

Summer Youth Schedule

The youth group at Mossy Creek is anxiously looking forward to the summer. We have a lot of exciting events taking place during the summer to keep everyone busy. We have several fun and exciting trips planned as well as a lot of outreach programs planned for the summer. Matthew 10:8 teaches us, “Freely you have received, freely give.” Freely receiving means joyfully accepting His grace that we can never repay. All He asks in return is that we become givers and that we give freely, not accepting payment. We feel that by doing our outreach programs we are giving freely to others as God gives freely to us.
